Optimus BT's List Search Component for SharePoint is a SharePoint Add-on allowing end users to search for items from within a specified list. Configuring Microsoft SharePoint Search for the same task would require end users to have administrative privileges, and specific training, knowledge and skill set. With the List Search Web part, SharePoint end users can easily configure the web part on any list and search through the list.
The List Search Component displays security trimmed information - meaning that the lists and views displayed during the configuration are only those which the user has explicit access to. Even the search results return only the items that the user has access rights to.

The List Search Component comes with simple and advanced search with support for Wildcards like "*". Conditional keyword string specification with the use of AND and OR operators is also supported for better filtering of the information from the SharePoint list.
